Moria is a Brooklyn based Costume and set designer. She shares her home in Crown Heights with her husband Corey, a Scenic Artist & Sculptor and their two cats.. She was Born in Minneapolis and raised in a hardworking, but creative household.
As a designer Moria has collaborated on new work, updated classics, and opera.. She is interested in telling diverse stories from a a historical and social-political point of view. She seeks to Explore and challenge roles of gender; To make artistic choices that can help shape the humanity and humor of a performance.
Moria Has several collaborators she works closely with. she has worked most prolifically with Sarah Rasmussen. Recently working on Kate Hamill's adaptation of Sense and Sensibility for the Guthrie. and Dallas Theatre Center.
for Sarah's first show as the New artistic director of the Jungle theatre they remounted Two Gentlemen of Verona. Originally produced at OSF as their first all-female shakespeare.
Moria participated in the OPERA AMERICA DIRECTOR-DESIGNER SHOWCASE collaborating With Mary Birnbaum, Grace Laubacher, and Anshuman Bhatia. As one of the winning teams they presented their work on 4 Saints 3 Acts at the National Opera Conference in Washing D.C. in May of 2015. spring of 2016 they collaborated again on Magic Flute at Juilliard.
Moria has designed two productions for The Public Theatre's Mobile Unit that presents free Shakespeare to prisons, homeless shelters, centers for the elderly, and other community venues throughout the 5 boroughs. The goal is to remove the boundaries of shakespeare,.
Other projects have included working with Suttirat Larlarb and Jane Greenwood as associate on several broadway, opera and regional projects. She has done costume sketches for Sarah Edwards for 2 major films and does a bit of day playing for Tv and film shooting in nyc.
